Barry is a founding and acting partner of Pressé Mason. He graduated from St. Mary’s University with Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts Degrees and graduated from Dalhousie Law School with a Bachelor of Law Degree in 1993. Barry was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in June of 1994.
Barry is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Canadian Bar Association and American Association for Justice. He is the Past President of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association. Barry has acted for plaintiffs in numerous insurance matters since his admission to the Bar in 1994 and has appeared before various Courts and administrative tribunals. Currently Barry represents Melissa Gionet, Anna Marie MacDonald and the Coalition Against No Fault Insurance in a constitutional challenge to the Nova Scotia Auto Insurance Reform Act.
Barry has been recognized in the 2007, 2008, 2009 and most recently in the 2010 edition of the Best Lawyers in Canada, for his work in the field of personal injury law.

Barry served as a member of the discovery and disclosure working group of the Nova Scotia Rules Reform and Revision Project.
Barry is also active politically having served as the President of the Bedford PC Association from 2002 to 2003. He is currently the Chair of the Rocky Lake Development Association, a non-profit volunteer organization, facilitating the construction of ice-rinks, soccer fields, gymnasiums and walking trails at the Rocky Lake Commons in Bedford. Barry was named the Volunteer of the Year for Bedford in 2007.
